Charities we support

At the end of each financial year we give a portion of our annual profit to a nominated charity. Below are the charities we support and donate to.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Their vision is for every child in hospital to have their families close by, and to ensure families are fully supported in their Houses. Help RMHC support families across the UK with children in hospital by taking part in one of their events.

Great Ormond Street Hospital

Cancer is the biggest killer of children aged one to 14 in the UK. That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is building a new, world-leading Children’s Cancer Centre. To give more children the chance to lead happy, healthy lives. And to help improve the odds for children with cancer once and for all.

Children in Need

Children in Need fund over 2,500 local charities and projects which directly support children and young people in communities right across the UK. The charity supports children and young affected by a whole range of disadvantages such as poverty, disability, illness, distress or trauma.

British Heart Foundation

The British Heart Foundation is a cardiovascular research charity in the United Kingdom. It funds medical research related to heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors, and runs influencing work aimed at shaping public policy and raising awareness.

St John Ambulance

St John Ambulance is a volunteer-led, charitable non-governmental organisation dedicated to the teaching and practice of first aid and the support of the national emergency response system in England.

Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care.

Cancer Research

Cancer Research UK is a cancer research and awareness charity in the United Kingdom and Isle of Man, formed on 4 February 2002 by the merger of The Cancer Research Campaign and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

World Wide Fund for Nature

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is an international non-governmental organisation founded in 1961 that works in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human impact on the environment.

Mind

Mind is a mental health charity in England and Wales. Founded in 1946 as the National Association for Mental Health, it celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2016. Mind offers information and advice to people with mental health problems.

Alzheimer’s Research UK

Alzheimer’s Research UK is a dementia research charity in the United Kingdom, founded in 1992 as the Alzheimer’s Research Trust.

FareShare

FareShare is a charity network aimed at relieving food poverty and reducing food waste in the UK, which has been running since 1994.

Shelter

Shelter is a registered charity that campaigns to end homelessness and bad housing in Great Britain.

RSPCA

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a charity operating in England and Wales that promotes animal welfare. The RSPCA is funded primarily by voluntary donations.

    Bidding registration deposit

    The bidding registration deposit is required in order to be approved for bidding. The amount is £2,400 per lot and is deducted from your deposit upon exchange, if you are the highest bidder. If you are not the highest bidder, the bidding registration deposit is refunded to you, in full.

    Bidding online

    Once you’ve been approved to bid, our registrations team will send your login details. On the day of the auction, click the ‘Live Auction’ button displayed on our homepage, login and start bidding. There will be a live video feed of our auctioneer and presenter, who’ll be talking through the lots, providing insightful tips and information.

    Bidding by telephone

    A Connect UK Auctions representative will call you prior and during the auction and place bids on your instruction. You will also be able to watch the live auction on our website via Connect Realtime®

    Bidding by proxy

    Here you will advise us of your maximum bid amount, and we’ll bid on your behalf up to this figure. We will always endeavour to secure the property for you, either at, or below your maximum bid amount, if possible. If another bidder exceeds your maximum bid amount, your proxy bid would end.
